Since 1993 Mole Golf, a small, family-run business has specialised in the shaping of golf courses. We believe we are now the largest golf course shaping company in Europe having worked in many European countries. Much of our work is through recommendation and being the preferred contractor. Our scope of work has ranged from Pay & Play to Championship courses working in many different ground conditions, from peat bogs to rock.
SHAPERS
We have been fortunate to work with numerous shapers, and because of this now have a loyal team operating our machinery. We also have contact with many excellent shapers. Together they have a vast experience of golf course construction gathered from working throughout the world on many prestigious courses.
We can offer:
MACHINERY
We only use Caterpillar machines and have dozers ranging from D5s to D8s. The D5s and D6s are all LGP and most have PAT blades. All our excavators have long reach dippers and Powertilt buckets, which give an excellent finish in tricky situations.
The D8 dozer, together with its pull scraper, is extremely efficient for cut and fill works on large earthwork projects. This machine can excavate 15 cubic meters in less than 30 seconds and transport it up to a kilometre, and then deposit it in layers. Use of this machine can replace the use of one excavator, two 25 tonne dumpers and one dozer, doing the same work.
PAST WORK
We have had the privilege to work on many projects, from Pay & Play courses as well as several full specification championship courses, such as Golfpark Schloss Wilkendorf, Golf & Country Club Seddiner See (north and south courses), and St Leon Rot Golf Club where Tiger Woods was invited to play at the German Open. During our time in Europe we have worked in many countries, which include Germany, Portugal, Italy, Sardinia, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, and France as well as Kuwait, Russia and China.
We have also been involved in several refurbishment works to existing courses such as:
This work is usually carried out during the Winter months in order to cause the least amount of disruption to the golf season.
Most of our contracts are obtained either through recommendation or being the preferred earthworks and shaping contractor - references available on request.
FUTURE WORK
As specialists in supplying experienced shapers and machinery to the golf industry, we intend to continue providing this service throughout Europe, and in other parts of the world are able to supply experienced shapers.
Also, together with our European Partner Companies, we are able to undertake all aspects of golf course construction - we would be pleased to receive any tender documents from interested Architects (please contact).
