This enables a local contractor with no specialist skills to be utilised economically, whilst the specialist knowledge and training is supplied by Mole Golf Ltd enabling “high end”, championship quality courses to be built without the traditional associated costs. As we are all working for the same “team” or partnership, it facilitates the promotion of a good, non-confrontational contract. This provide the Client and Architect with a clear and flexible environment to ensure their wishes can be introduced with the minimum of disruption and cost. Jointly, a budget and programme can be devised to suit the contract - not always the case with major sub-contractors. By involving the local populace and companies with a project, goodwill and economy go “hand-in-hand”. It may also satisfy local planning requirements.
Utilising local personnel from the start, a core of workers can be trained, on site, with all aspects of construction, giving them an intimate knowledge of the course. Working through construction, installation of services, cultivation, seeding, and growing-in, it effectively provides an in-house future green keeping staff. Working with local sub-contractors we supply the necessary training, management and support they require to complete their contract, even if they have little or no previous golf construction experience. We can use the best of their capabilities, knowledge and resources to the advantage of the contract as a whole.
Mole Golf Ltd has a large quantity of specialist golf course construction equipment, in particular for shaping and features. This equipment is not often available locally, again providing a saving. We also provide a complete GPS survey system, vital for accurate setting out and as-built plans.
Mole Golf Ltd offers the complete management package, with typically 5 to 6 of our personnel on site at any one time. In discussions with the Client, not only do we assist in the planning, budgeting and programming, we also offer a detailed costing of our services for the duration of the contract.
If you have any requirement for golf course specialists you can find a list of personnel under RESOURCES.
Concept
More and more clients are opting for a management / specialist team for construction of new courses, rather than complete “turn-key” projects. The benefits are clear in terms of finance, quality, planning, and local goodwill to a project. Consequently, Mole Golf has put together a team of highly experienced and professional personnel to meet this demand. They are of the highest standard, and used to working on their own initiative. In reality, many so-called “turnkey” operators utilise local resources extensively, whilst making a tidy profit on their work. Our solution bypasses this step in the contract, thereby avoiding the turnkey “mark-up” The basic concept is the fewer “expat” workers there are on site the cheaper it is in terms of logistics, accommodation and other associated costs.
