GERMANY, 2006 Golfpark Bachgrund, Worfelden

In 2006 the existing 9 hole course (built by us in 2000/2001) was sold to our Clients, Golfanlagen Weiland GmbH, with whom we have constructed many courses. The new 18 hole course is in good, sandy ground in an area of low rainfall and on this particular project, because of the large amount of earthmoving required on this very flat site, we used our larger equipment, namely D8 dozer and scraper box, D6R and N dozers, and D5M dozer, as well as our Cat. 312 excavators. Golfanlagen Weiland GmbH had a number of their own machines working alongside.

The Project Manager, Thomas Biermann (www.thomasbiermann.com), together with his associate James Coughlan, and in close co-operation with Mole Golf, designed this new course. It is unusual in that the mounding in and around the course has taken on the look of a link-like course having sharp edges, steep sides and spiked tops to the mounds. These were planted with fescue grass and left to give a contrast between the fairways and roughs. Because of its unusual shaping this course has attracted interest from other golf course investors.
