GERMANY, Golfclub Rottbach, Muenchen

This was our first foray into turn-key projects and what a job for our initiation into this type of work!! 50% of the course had to be constructed in a peat bog so specialist machinery needed to be brought in from The Netherlands in the form of Terragators. These machines are designed to travel over soft ground, such as peat, with few problems. Of course, there are always places to catch you out - as testified by the pictures.

On the whole the project went well and the earthworks and shaping took 3 months to complete. The irrigation and seeding was sub-contracted out, and was completed within programmed works. However, they were so keen to get going, they arranged a knock-out competition of the closest ball to the pin within 3 shots on hole No. 1 before it was completed! The Client and the Architect (Thomas Himmel www.golfhimmel.de ) were extremely happy with the end result.
